Asante Rogue Regional koi pond welcomes baby birds

Little blackbirds got their first taste of freedom in May and were caught on camera scoping out the territory. The parents were nearby and had no problem dive-bombing anyone who got too close, including an Asante News photographer. Campus veterans say this happens every year. One employee even painted eyes on the back of a hard hat because the nervous parents won't attack if you're looking at them. The best advice? Take the long way around the pond until spring is over.

At least the koi aren't dive-bombing employees anymore. That was a rough year.
